UDub is now officially a UDud

Just as the “strong” can get “stronger”, apparently it is possible for the “sad” to get “sadder”, and I’m not talking about the emotional sense.  The University of Washington Huskies football team, known as “UDub” for short, can now officially be classified as a “UDud”.  The King of the UDuds is none other than himself, Head Coach Tyrone Willingham.

Seattle’s sports teams are in the dumps

The Seattle-area sports teams, both college and professional, have probably hit their lowest point this year and it’s not even funny.  I understand that teams’ success is often cyclical, where winning seasons are often followed by losing seasons, as teams rebuild.  However, the current sports scene in Seattle is downright depressing.

Remember this UCLA fans…

One the few high points of the Washington Huskies’ disappointing 2007-08 season was beating then No. 2 ranked UCLA Bruins at home. Click here for the complete boxscore (courtesy ESPN) of that game. UDub ended the season with a 16-17 overall record (7-11 in the Pac-10), finishing above California and Oregon St., the cellar-dwellers of the Pac-10.

Finally! UDub 27, Stanford 9

After winning their first two games, UDub dropped their next six. However, they finally won their third by beating Stanford, 27-9, at the revamped Stanford Stadium.
